Seacloak Software, Inc., Makers of the Traffic Report Log Analysis Tool

Let’s say you’d like a simple way of having TR report each day on yesterday’s log. And you’d rather not have to drag the new log into the Log Location table and remove the old one each day. One (problematic) way of doing this involves renaming the new log after the log listed in the Log Location table and renaming the original log something else. This presents a problem. Traffic Report might still think the log in the table refers to the original log. Or, if it does target the newer log, this may confuse the Report Cache, which will think it has already gathered at least some information from this new log. Either way, this is not a good technique to use. The ideal technique is to create a folder for your logs, such as "Log Folder." Then drag this folder into the Log Location table and save your settings document. TR will report on whichever logs are in this folder.

Advanced Configurations
Selecting Logs (Log Location panel)

The Log Location panel is where you select the log files you want TR to report on.

Log Location Panel

You can choose your log files individually or, if you have them handy in a folder, choose the folder itself. Click the Add File button to add a log file or click the Add Folder button to add a folder containing Logs. Or simply drag the files/folders you’d like to the table and drop them in (TR just searches a folder itself for Logs and does not look inside the folder’s folders). TR displays each log’s name, modification date and size. Click a log to see a preview of it in the Log Preview pane. To remove an item from the table you may drag it from the table to the trash or highlight it and click the Clear button.
